The SAMURAI series of oval and round cutting boards / butcher blocks in different sizes are made of hand-selected and high-quality hardwood, made from Akacia Mangium which is grown in FSC-certified plantations.
Design: Carl Öjerstam with many creations made, including at IKEA
The chess-patterned construction is the result of all wooden slats showing the end wood facing upwards, which is much more durable than the plank sides of the wood. This construction has long been the norm for all professional butcher benches that are subjected to a lot of cuts and blows. The construction is costly in production as it involves much more gluing and gluing than e.g. finger-jointed discs.
What you see of the end wood are the capillaries in the trunk through which water is sucked up to the canopy. When the wood is dried, it has the opposite effect as oil is absorbed for several days when you treat them. Our cutting boards are soaked in oil for 24 hours and then dried off and given another 3 layers of oil with good drying time and lubrication in between. All for the cutting boards to be perfect with the wood saturated with oil on arrival at the customer.
Chamfering the edges as on these cutting boards is a great carpentry art, which is why we gave them the name SAMURAI as we have the text CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY as part of our Samurai logo.
We of course use our own ZERO% VOC Hard Wax Oil which is tested and approved for contact with food.
If the surface looks dry or when water stains on the surface seem to soak into the wood rather than staying on top that drips, then give your cutting board a new layer of Interbuilds Hard Wax Oil. If the surface is worn after a lot of use, just sand it with sandpaper and oil again.
These cutting boards can be used for food preparation of all kinds of food ingredients. With its unique height and fantastic design, it can be used as an impressive serving plate / slice board on a dining table or sideboard!
Present cooked meals such as lamb racks, smoked salmon, seafood, plank steaks, vegetables, salads, pasta dishes, baguettes and bread in general on it or let it serve as a majestic cheese platter or as a fruit platter.
Maintenance: Wash the cutting board with warm water with a mild detergent after each use and dry with a clean towel or allow it to air dry. For further decontamination, use baking soda to remove odor or salt or lemon or vinegar to remove stains.
Always make sure you have a can of INTERBUILD's hard wax oil ready to always be able to top up a surface that looks dry.
Do not immerse the cutting board in water, this will damage the wood. Like all natural wood cutting boards, Interbuild's cutting boards are not intended for dishwashers.
Warranty: We provide a 3-year warranty regarding production defects such as open adhesive joints. Glue joints are normally stronger than the wood itself. All wood can crack in the wood itself depending on humidity and temperature which can cause tension in the wood. We do not guarantee this type of error that can occur depending on the end user's handling and storage of the cutting board. This guarantee is provided provided that the product is not cleaned in dishwashers or submerged under water, and is often maintained and oiled as soon as it looks dry.
